What are the different membership tiers?

There are two Pyar membership tiers – Basic and Premium. If you choose to verify your mobile phone, you can also unlock a temporary Premium trial membership which will give you access to most Premium membership features for a limited time.

How long does a trial membership last?

The trial membership may vary depending on the promotional offers available on your date of sign up. To find your trial length on Pyar.com, tap the Go Premium page on the hamburger menu of your signed in account. The Go Premium page will display your trial length in the lower section of the page. The trial begins when you verify your mobile number. There is no payment information required at this point. At the end of the trial, you will be prompted to purchase Premium to continue your membership at the Premium tier or downgrade to Basic membership, free of charge.

How much does Pyar Premium membership cost?

The price of Premium membership depends on your location. To find your Premium price, sign in to your account and tap the Go Premium page on the hamburger menu of your signed in account. The Go Premium page will display your price in the lower section of the page. Please note the subscription will automatically renew every month.

How often will I be billed for Premium membership?

Premium subscription payments are automatically billed once every month. You will be notified by email on the renewal date. You can find your personal renewal date by visiting Pyar.com and navigating to the My Premium page on the Pyar.com App.

How do I pay for a Premium subscription?

You can pay for a Premium subscription by tapping the 'Go Premium' button on the Go Premium page of the Pyar.com App (found under the hamburger menu in the upper right-hand corner of any main page). After tapping the ‘Go Premium’ button you will be prompted to confirm your purchase with in-purchases through iOS or Android. If you have not previously filled out your payment method in your mobile, you will be prompted to do so.

What payment methods does Pyar offer?

You can only pay through iOS or Android in-app purchases.

What is the difference between Basic and Premium membership?

On Pyar, Basic membership is always free. However, we do have a few paid extras with our Premium membership that you may be interested in:

When can I cancel my Premium subscription?

You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time. However, you will remain a Premium member until the end of the billing cycle. Cancelling your subscription will not retroactively refund any payments and no refunds will be issued for the remainder of your time as a Premium member.

Will my information remain on Pyar after I cancel my Premium membership?

Yes, your account and Profile information will remain intact after you cancel your Premium membership. Premium features, such as messages and views, will be saved but inaccessible unless you choose to re-subscribe to Premium membership.

How can I completely remove my information from Pyar?

You can remove your information on Pyar.com or the Pyar.com app by deleting your account. This means that.

  • Your account and information will permanently be deleted from our main database.
  • You will no longer show up on anyone's recommendations.
  • There will be no refund for your Premium subscription. 
  • Your chat conversations will be lost.
  • Your photos will be lost.

How can I cancel my subscription?

iOS:

  1. Go to your iOS settings
  2. Find and select 'iTunes & App Store'
  3. Tap ‘Apple ID’(your Apple ID email)
  4. Tap ‘View Apple ID’
  5. Log in, if necessary
  6. Scroll down to Subscriptionsand tap ‘manage’.
  7. Select Pyar.com and set the auto-renewal slider to Off or select ‘unsubscribe’.

Android:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app
  2. Using the left-hand menu, select ‘Account’
  3. Go to Subscriptions and select ‘Pyar.com’
  4. Select ‘cancel’or ‘unsubscribe’
  5. Confirm

How do I unlock the Premium Trial?

To unlock your free Premium trial, you must submit and verify your mobile number. This can be done in a few different places:

  1. Verify your mobile as the last step of Registration
  2. Verify your mobile through the Verified Mobile Phone Trophy on the trophies section of your Profile
  3. Tap a Premium feature such as 'new message' button, Views tab, etc. and follow the pop ups
  4. From the Unlock Trial option on the hamburger drawer menu

After you have tapped on one of the features above, simply enter your mobile number, watch for the SMS message on your phone, and enter the message code.

How do I manage the emails I receive from Pyar?

Go to your Account > Notifications. Under Notifications, you can toggle on or off the marketing emails you wish to start or stop receiving. Please note that there are some account and membership emails that are not subject to unsubscribe.

How do I change my name?

Go to your Account > Settings. Under Profile, tap on the 'change name' button. You will need to enter your desired display name and, upon saving, confirm that you want to change your name to the one just entered.

Please note that, for verification purposes, you may only change your name every 90 days.

How do I change my email address?

Go to your Account > Settings. Under Security, tap on the 'change email' button.

You will need to enter your current password (for security purposes) and your new email twice. After saving a new email, you will have to sign back in with the new email.

Additionally, you will receive an email to both your old and new email addresses that your address was changed. This is a precaution we take so that if you did not change your email, you will know. If this has happened to you, please contact the Pyar team.

How do I change my password?

Go to your Account > Settings. Under Security, tap on the 'change password' button.

You will need to enter your current password (for security purposes) and your new password twice. After saving a new password, you will have to sign back in with the new password.

Additionally, you will receive an email that your password was changed. This is a precaution we take so that if you did not change your password, you will know. If this has happened to you, please contact the Pyar team.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

Don't worry, just tap on 'I forgot my password’ from the Sign In page. Once you enter your registered email address, Pyar will send you an email with the password reset code. Simply go back to the app and enter the code from the email, and then you will be able to reset your password.

How can I change my location (where I live)?

Go to your Account > Settings. Scroll down to Profile. Tap into the 'residence' field and select your country from the list. Tap ‘next’ in the upper right-hand corner and then type in your city name. If your city does not appear, try typing in the name of a large city near your city of residence or checking that you selected the correct country.

How do I change my birthday?

Go to your Account > Settings. Scroll down to Profile. Tap into the 'birthday' field and enter your birthday in the format: Month/Day/Year. For example, February 1st, 1990 would be: 2/1/1990

How do I change the gender I’m interested in?

Go to Account > Settings. Scroll down to Profile. Tap into the 'interested in' field and select the gender you are interested in from the picker that appears.

How do I change my gender?

If you wish to change the gender you selected during registration, please send an email to team@pyar.com with the subject “Change Gender” or send a Contact Us request with the selected account category. An administrator will review your request and respond shortly.

Why do you need my email address if I’m connecting through Facebook?

We will only ask you for your email if you are a Facebook mobile member. This means that your social network has not passed on your email address to us, because it only knows your mobile phone number. Since we do not want to send you messages via text without your approval, we would like to use email as our default communication channel, so we can notify you as best we can.

Why can’t I use this email address?

There are several reasons why your email address may not be used:

  1. It was entered incorrectly, with the wrong format.
    • Solution: Enter your email in this format: johnsmith@example.com
  2. Your account was registered through a Facebook account which uses the same address.
    • Solution: Please connect via Facebook instead of email.
  3. An account was already created using this email.
    • Solution: Use our Sign In page instead of our Registration page.

Why won’t Pyar accept my City’s name?

There are several reasons for why Pyar cannot accept the city entered:

  1. The name of the city was entered incorrectly. Please double check.
  2. A county/borough/province/state/township was entered instead of a city or town
  3. An abbreviation or short name of the city was entered
  4. This is a new city, and Pyar does not have it in the records. Please contact the Pyar team to let us know, but for now, please use a neighboring town or city.

Why am I required to upload two photos in registration?

You are required to upload at least two photos during registration. This improves the quality of matches on Pyar.com, since Profiles without photos are not desirable for other users to interact with. If one of those two required photos is rejected by our moderation team after registration, you will be required to upload another to replace it, before you will be able to see matches or matches will be able to see you. Even though only two photos are required, we highly encourage you to upload all nine photos, as this gives you the best chance of finding your perfect match.

Is online dating safe?

There are a few inherent risks when talking to people you don’t personally know online, but if you take basic precautions and use common sense, online dating can be as safe as traditional dating, if not safer.

How much personal information should I divulge in my online profile?

It is a good idea to check the Terms of Use of any Platform before posting information about yourself. You should also consider how exposed your profile will be, and how much personal information you are comfortable exposing to the public. Since you can contact matches through an online dating service's internal communication system, there's no need to reveal your address or phone number.

What precautions should I take when communicating with another member?

When you do communicate with other members, keep in mind the possibility that any stranger could be a liar or a scammer. Proceed with caution and listen to your instincts. Never respond to any request to send money, especially overseas or by wire transfer, and report it to us immediately – even if the person claims to be in an emergency. Never give personal information, such as your social security number, credit card number or bank information, or your work or home address to people you don’t know or haven’t met in person.

What if I feel a user is communicating with suspicious or abusive behavior?

Block and report suspicious or abusive users. You can block, and report concerns about any suspicious user anonymously. Keep conversations on the platform. Bad actors will try to move the conversation to text, personal email, or phone conversations. See the FAQ "How can I report a match?" or the FAQ “How can I block a match?” to learn how to block and report matches.

How can I be sure the person I am talking to is the person I am meeting?

Don't feel obligated to meet every match in person. Wait until you feel comfortable, and when you do schedule a first date, choose a well-lit, public place, and tell a friend where you are going.

How do I get the Social Connection Trophy?

Tap on the 'Social Connection Trophy' and connect with Facebook. If successful, the trophy is yours for the taking.

How do I get the Selfie Verification Trophy?

It's all too easy! Upload a selfie for our moderation team to verify.

How do I get the Profile Completion Trophy?

Fill out your profile (don’t leave any fields blank) and you’ll get a trophy.

How do I get the Phone Verification Trophy?

Tap on the 'Phone Verification Trophy' and type in your phone number (don’t worry, we won’t share it). You will receive a code via SMS to enter on your screen. If successful, you’re in!

Note: You must have a phone number with the standard format for your country of residence.

How do I set up or edit My Match Preferences?

Go to your Profile and scroll down to the My Preferred Match section. Tap on any of the questions to fill out your preferences for your ideal match.

How do I select/deselect a hobby?

Go to your Profile and scroll down to the box with the prompt "What are your hobbies?". Select your hobbies by tapping the bubbles on the page that appears. They will turn blue when a hobby is selected. Tap 'done' in the upper right-hand corner when you are done selecting hobbies.

Why can’t I change my name/birthday/location?

Since these are quite permanent, we kept these in your Account > Settings. You may edit them from there. Please note that you are only able to change your name once every 90 days.

How do I upload a new photo?

Go to the top of your Profile page and tap on any of the 'camera' icons at the bottom of your profile photo. From the selection menu that appears, select either ‘take photo’, ‘choose from library’, ‘photo from Facebook’, or ‘photo from Instagram’.  Follow the prompts and crop the photo to the proper dimensions and it will appear on your Profile.

How do I set another photo as my profile photo?

Tap on any of your gallery photos. From the window, tap on the 'more options' icon and select ‘make profile photo’ from the selection menu that appears. Your current profile photo and the one you set will swap places.

How do I edit my profile photo?

Tap on your 'Profile Photo' from your Profile page. In the window that appears, tap on the ‘more options’ icon in the upper right-hand corner. From the selection menu that appears, tap ‘edit photo’.

How do I delete my profile/gallery photo?

Tap on the photo you wish to delete from the photo thumbnail on your Profile. From the window that appears, tap the 'more options' icon in the upper right-hand corner. From the selection menu that appears, select ‘delete photo’. You will not see this option on the profile photo menu, as profile photos are mandatory. You may, however, choose to replace your current profile photo with another one.

What are the Pyar.com photo guidelines?

You will be able to upload images from your computer, Instagram, or Facebook account. You can use these images as your profile photo or gallery photos. These photos must be JPEG or PNG format and fit into our image size restrictions. You may crop and scale your profile photo. You can also rearrange the order of your gallery photos. You are allowed nine photos on your Profile. After nine, you will need to either replace a profile photo or delete and upload another gallery image. You can re-edit your profile photo as many times as you want after uploading. Gallery images can also easily be swapped for profile photos by tapping the 'make profile photo' button. Images must follow the content guidelines below.

WHAT'S ALLOWED?

  1. Group photos - User must be in the photo.
  2. Pets – User must be in the photo.
  3. Landscapes – User must be in the photo.

WHAT'S NOT ALLOWED?

  1. Copyrighted images or images taken from the internet.
  2. Images that contain weaponry or illegal activity.
  3. Images that contain possible drugs or drug paraphernalia.
  4. Pornographic or inappropriate images or images that contain explicit content, including, but not limited to nudity or underwear.
  5. Photos that contain an inappropriate sign or gesture.
  6. Images that contain self-harm or suicidal imagery.
  7. Images that depict blood, gore, bullying, violence, injured or dead animals, or criminal behavior.
  8. Images that encourage hate speech, religious condemnation, or racial slurs.
  9. Images that contain personal details, such as contact information or social media handles.
  10. Images which are overly blurry, distorted, filtered, or are intentionally modified in a way to mislead the viewer.
  11. Images that are deemed to be [or contain] advertising or marketing materials for a product, person, business, organization, or other such entity.
  12. Images of a person, people, animal(s), or landscape, or thing without the Pyar.com member in it
  13. Images that do not match the Pyar.com member's selected gender or age.
  14. Images that do not display enough of the Pyar.com member for him/her to be identified or where the member was too far from the camera for him/her to be identified or where the member’s face was obstructed from view.

How can I comment or like a match’s photo?

To comment or like a match's photo, you must first be a Premium or Premium trial member. To unlock your Premium trial, see the FAQ "How do I unlock the Premium Trial?" if your Premium trial has already expired and you wish to purchase Premium, see the FAQ “How do I pay for a Premium subscription?”

If you are already a Premium or Premium trial member, follow these steps to comment or like a match’s photo:

  1. Find the match whose photo you want to comment on or like, in either Search or Matches pages
  2. Tap the match’s 'match tile’ to navigate to their full Profile
  3. Select the photo you wish to comment on or like at the top of the Profile - you must tap the full width profile photo (not the thumbnail) or swipe to one of the other photos in the top of the Profile and tap it to perform these actions
  4. The photo will appear in a full screen window on a black background
  5. Below the photo, you will see a heart and a comment bubble – tap the ‘heart’ to like the photo or tap the ‘comment bubble’ to comment (both options will notify the match)
  6. If you tap the ‘comment bubble’, a window will appear for you to type your comment
  7. Type your comment and tap ‘send’

Comments and likes are private between you and the match whose photo you commented on. Your match cannot respond directly to comments; however, they can message you through the message center, if they are also a Premium or Premium trial member.

How can I bookmark someone as a favorite?

You may tap on the 'favorite' icon (heart) from a match’s card or Profile. You may view all your favorites from Dashboard > Favorites.

Please note that matches are not notified of you favoriting them. This is simply a tool for you to bookmark them.

How can I unfavorite someone?

Tap on the 'favorite' icon (heart) from a previously favorited match’s card or Profile.

How can I flirt with someone?

If you are a Premium member, you may tap on the 'flirt' icon (heart bubble) from a match’s card or Profile. Once successful, the icon will be filled in.

Please note that matches are notified of you flirting with them. You may only do it once for any given match.

How can I message someone?

What are my Match Preferences?

Your My Match Preferences are a series of questions that help Pyar.com determine who you will have the strongest connections with. The more criteria you fill out on your Profile, the better chance you have of being paired with someone you have a lot in common with!

Why can’t I see any matches?

You may see a window which says "See Your Matches - Complete your Profile to see your matches. They'll also be able to see you!" on your Matches and Search pages. You are receiving this window because your Profile is incomplete. Incomplete Profiles are not able to view matches on Pyar.com. This improves match quality and ensures that only serious contenders are displayed. To solve this issue, you must complete the following sections of your Profile.

  1. Upload at least 1 profile photo and 1 gallery photo
  2. Fill out all of your Basics questions
  3. Add your hobbies to the section “What are your hobbies?”
  4. Add your top five personality traits to the section “Tell us your top five personality traits”
  5. Write answers to your three bio questions “How would your friends describe you?”, “What are three things you are thankful for?”, and “What characteristics do you look for in a match?”

The remaining sections are optional but encouraged. After you have completed the required sections, navigate back to the Matches or Search page and you should see matches immediately. If you are still blocked from seeing matches please attempt to open and close the app and double check that you have filled out all of the required sections.

What is the Pyar Percentage?

We evaluate your match preferences against a match's Profile to create a Pyar Percentage that helps you easily view compatibility with a match. The higher the percentage, the more likely you are to form a lasting connection. The Pyar Percentage can be viewed on a match's Profile or match tile.

Why can’t I see my Pyar Percentage with a match?

There are two reasons why you may not be able to see your Pyar Percentage:

First, if you cannot see a Pyar Percentage on any match tiles or Profiles, then you need to fill out your My Match Preferences section of your Profile. This section can be found at the bottom of your Profile and is used to compare your preferences for a match against that match's Profile.

Second, if you are unable to see your Pyar Percentage with a certain match, this may mean they have not filled out enough of their Profile or their Match Preferences. Send them a quick reminder from their Profile or a message if you’re interested in finding out your Pyar Percentage with them.

To improve your overall Pyar Percentage with any given match, try completing more of your Profile and uploading more photos.

How can I report a match?

If you feel a match is acting inappropriately towards you or contacting you too frequently, you may report that match.

To report a match, tap the 'more options' icon (three stacked dots) on a match card or Profile and select ‘report’ from the menu. In addition, you may tap the ‘report’ button on a match’s photos.

You can also ‘report’ a match by sending the match’s information to team@pyar.com with a description of their inappropriate behavior and screenshots, if necessary.

How can I block a match?

If you feel a match is acting inappropriately towards you or contacting you too frequently, you may block that match, even if they are not breaking the rules.

To block a match, tap the 'more options' icon (three stacked dots) on a match card or Profile and select ‘block’ from the menu.

If you block a match, you and your match will no longer receive updates, flirts, views, or messages from each other, and your Profiles will be inaccessible to each other.

You may unblock a match from your Account > Privacy tab.

What is the hide feature?

The hide feature allows you to turn off notifications from matches in your network, such as new photo uploaded, Profile views, etc. You can hide notifications from a match by tapping the 'more options' icon (three stacked dots) from a match’s tile or Profile. From the menu that appears, tap ‘hide’ and you will no longer receive notifications about this match. You will still be able to see the match and they will still be able to see you. If you wish to ‘block’ a match instead, see the FAQ "How can I block a match?"

How can I turn off notifications about a match?

You can hide notifications from a match by tapping the 'more options' icon (three stacked dots) from a match’s tile or Profile. From the menu that appears, tap ‘hide’ and you will no longer receive notifications about this match, such as new photo uploaded, Profile views, etc. You will still be able to see the match and they will still be able to see you. If you wish to ‘block’ a match instead, see the FAQ "How can I block a match?"

How do I search for someone near my current location?

Go to the Search tab and tap the 'search filters' icon (in the upper left-hand corner) and find the Location section.

  1. Select your desired radius (ex: within 100 miles/km)
  2. Select ‘of my location’
  3. Accept location services to be turned on
  4. Tap ‘Search’

You can also sort by closest distance by going to the Distance tab.

How do I search for someone by name?

Go to the Search tab and tap the 'search filters' icon (in the upper left-hand corner) and find the ‘search by name’ section.

Type in your match’s name and tap ‘Search’.

How do I search for someone in a different country?

Go to the Search tab and tap the 'search filters' icon (in the upper left-hand corner) and find the Location section.

  1. Select your desired radius (ex: within 100 miles/km)
  2. Select ‘of another location’
  3. Select your desired country
  4. Type in your desired city, and select from our suggested locations
  5. Tap ‘Search’

What if I don’t want my matches to know I’ve viewed their Profile?

If you are a Premium member, you may choose to browse invisibly. Go to the side menu, and then tap 'browse invisibly' to turn it on. After you turn it on, the matches you view will not be able to find out that you have viewed their Profile. This means that:

  • You won’t show up on their Matches page under the Views tab
  • They will not receive push/banner notifications about you viewing them
  • They will not receive email notifications about you viewing them

How do I temporarily hide my Profile?

Go to your Account > Privacy tab and tap on the 'hide profile temporarily' button. Please note that disabling your Profile will NOT cancel or pause any Premium membership subscription you may have purchased. Hiding your Profile will only change your Profile’s visibility to your matches. For information on cancellation, see the Membership FAQ, "How can I cancel my subscription?"

How do I delete my account permanently?

Go to your Account > Privacy tab and click on the 'delete my account' button. If you are sure you want to leave, complete the process, and confirm. Keep in mind deleting your account means…

  • Your account and information will permanently be deleted from our main database. It will be transferred to a different database for purposes as set forth in the “Data Retention” section of our Privacy Policy.
  • You will no longer show up on anyone's recommendations.
  • There will be no refund for your Premium subscription.
  • Your chat conversations will be lost.
  • Your photos will be lost.

If you decide to come back…. 

  • You will have to fill out your information again.
  • You will be able to use the same email or Facebook account to create a new account.
  • You will need to upload your photos again.
  • You will need to purchase a subscription again if you would like to be a Premium member.  

Please consider contacting our team via the Contact Us Form before leaving, we may be able to resolve your reason for leaving without permanently deleting your information.

If you purchased a Premium membership subscription, deleting your account will NOT cancel your membership. For information on cancellation, see the Membership FAQ, “How can I cancel my subscription?”

How do I know I am talking to a real person, and not a spam bot?

All our users will be able to earn Pyar Trophies based on specific information entered on their Profile. The more trophies on a user's Profile, the more likely they are to be an authentic human being looking to connect with and meet someone. There are five types of trophies that help verify a user is "real." The trophies are clearly visible on a user’s Profile. We highly recommend you fill out the necessary information to earn the trophies, as well.

All users will also have an opportunity to upload a selfie that will be verified by our moderation team. Once this selfie is verified, a gold badge and the word “verified” will appear on the match’s Profile and match tile.

Pyar administrators constantly manage the mobile application, making sure that there aren’t any “bots” or “catfish.” However, you should always use caution when starting a conversation with someone.

What are Pyar Trophies?

There are 5 types of trophies that help verify a user is "real."

  • Email Verification: This happens during registration.
  • Social Verification: Connect with your Facebook account.
  • Selfie Verification: Upload a selfie for our moderation team to verify.
  • Mobile Phone: Verify your phone number. Don't worry, it won’t be shared!
  • Profile Completion: Fill out your Profile and you’re good to go!

How else can I avoid scammers?

We want you to have the best experience possible while using Pyar. Most importantly, we want you to be safe when connecting with other users. There are a few things you can do to protect yourself from scammers, bots, and catfish…

  • Trust your instincts
  • Never give out personal or financial information
  • Get to know the other person online before meeting them offline

Monitors and administrators consistently check the platform for any flaws in the system, as well as protect you from any offensive or spam users. You should always block and immediately report any user who behaves or treats you in an abusive way.

How do I complete Selfie Verification?

You may verify a selfie in two places on the Pyar.com apps. First, you may verify a selfie during registration. Second on your Profile, if you skipped selfie verification during registration or were registered before the feature was added. To verify a selfie on your Profile:

  • Go to the Profile tab
  • Scroll to the section titled Send us a selfie and receive a verified badge!
  • Tap the 'take photo' button
  • The camera screen will appear - take a photo of your face with the ‘take photo’ button – make sure it fits in the outline on the screen and that your face is not obstructed by sunglasses or hair
  • Tap the ‘check mark’ or retake the photo

Once you have tapped the check mark the selfie submission box will disappear. Your selfie will then be sent to our moderation team for verification. They will take a quick look and if there aren’t any issues you will be notified within 1-3 days that your selfie was verified. After verification, you will get a gold badge that will appear on your Profile for your matches to see.


Please note that selfies are not ever displayed on your Profile and your selfie is only ever visible to our internal moderation team. For this reason and verification purposes you are only able to take new photos. You cannot use a previously taken photo.
