7 Things Every Boyfriend Is A Little Bit Guilty Of Doing

Dating someone new is great, but eventually, their bad habits come to light. Anyone that's had a boyfriend can attest to him doing the following.

Habits Your Boyfriend is Guilty Of

1. He forgets one of the big date days

There are certain big dates that many committed men miss, whether it's your birthday, Valentine's Day, that major work event or your anniversary. Whatever big dates exist in your relationship, if your guy can't make it due to a family or a work thing, he's definitely going to feel guilty for a long time to come. And if he doesn't? Kick him to the curb.

Ideally, if he's in the wrong, he will try to make it up to you. It can be hurtful when someone close to you forgets your birthday, more so if it's your boyfriend. Figure out if he's too busy with other parts of his life or if he's just too cheap to buy you a present.

2. He hides something from you

Women always blame their men for "hiding" something. If your guy locks his phone, has passwords on everything and goes into the other room to make a call or send a text, it might be a red flag that he's no longer commited to only you. However, there are other things guys will hide from you that aren't so negative -- like what his apartment looks like if you don't tell him you're coming over (it's a mess) or those childhood photos his mom wants to show you (he's chubby).

3. He gossips with his buddies as much as you

Guys are just like us, and they gossip about all sorts of things -- work, gym habits, their friends' girlfriends. Don't let gender stereotyping make you assume that your boyfriend isn't gossiping when you aren't around.

4. He is always late

Sometimes, situations arise which make us late, no matter how we are prepared for that. Guys will feel guilty about it, but they will always be late when forced to attend events they don't want to be at. Because they can't refuse to go with you without enduring some serious effect, they'll show up well after it starts and pout the whole time.

5. He doesn't know how to refer to you

Are you his girlfriend? Are you just seeing each other, but non-exclusively? Girls are more likely to initiate "the talk" than guys are. He'd rather just try out some names and see how you react.

6. He doesn't think he's good enough for you

Many guys harbor deep insecurities about their appearance. Comments about their weight and body can make them feel embarrassed. If someone comments that your guy is not traditionally a good-looking guy, he feels guilty that he's not more attractive. This can be an issue further into the relationship, because it can cause him to become clingy and controlling.

7. He stops being as affectionate as he used to be

Physical attraction plays a major part in your relationship. It's one of the reasons why you were attracted to each other in the first place. Many guys who are in a relationship show less public displays of affection with their partner as time goes on. And a recent study found that men feel emotionless and empty after having sex. Whatever the reason is, if you need more affection, tell him!

If you've begun noticing any of these things about your guy, it's okay. Let him know if they are an issue for you. Honest communication is the key to any relationship.
